(Seed Grown)
Similar to Banksia blechnifolia but without the uniform serrations on the leaf. This little rascal will bloom in three years or so from seed and is odd enough to capture the attention of passers by. The leaves grow perpendicular to the ground and are rigid to the touch. They jiggle about in the wind which exposes their backsides (saucy) and creates an interesting effect as they're different shades of green The flowers protrude from the edge of the foliage beginning as small acorns before developing into 6" oblong fuzz ball.

Reviews
I have had mixed results with various Banksia spp in heat and heavy clay soil of central valley, but some will thrive if you put them in right spot and don't over water. Sulfur also helps for some to raise soil acidity. it also is good to start with strong growing healthy plants like those from this nursery. i will see how i do with this one.
