The aptly named Showy Banksia is a large, dense shrub that can grow to 12+ feet but is often smaller in gardens, especially when pruned. The deeply serrated leaves add interest when the plant is not in flower and can hold their own in a floral arrangement. The flowers are chunky big fluff balls to 6-8” tall and hold up for weeks in a vase.
