(Seed Grown)

When I introduce this plant to gardeners as an Acacia, I feel their eyes focus on my nose in anticipation of it growing like Pinocchios. This oddball only has a few leaves during its seedling stage before going full stick mode into adulthood. The giveaway are the masses of yellow pom-pom like flowers that dot the stems in late winter… you know, like Acacias.
