(Cutting Grown)
The species of this profuse flowering oddball can grow to 12+ feet, but this more diminutive form is far more suitable for tight spaces in the garden. The East Coast Banksias are generally the most forgiving in gardens with questionable soil and drainage, although more of the latter is always better. The flowers look like a cross between a cob of corn and velcro and persist for months on the plant. So weird - so lovable.

This was my first Banksia purchase when Troy introduced all these Aussie plants to Markham Arboretum (2012 or 2013). I just love this plant and enjoy the blooms winter to spring. I have been enjoying Troy's babies for over a decade now and will continue to squeeze in more when I can!
