(Seed Grown)

This character is a really beautiful and tough plant from the eastern portion of Australia. Like most plants from Australia, it's an evergreen, so it keeps its leaves all year round, which is nice when you're trying to hide the not-so-nice views of suburbia. But the real showstopper is its flowers – they're these amazing pale yellow "bottlebrush" spikes that pop up throughout most of the year, especially in autumn and winter.

They're not just pretty to look at; they also attract all sorts of birds and insects, which brings a lot of life to your garden. Plus, it's super hardy and can handle tough coastal conditions like salt spray and sandy soils, as well as those less desirable soils and temperatures further inland. So, if you're looking for something low-maintenance, drought-tolerant, and great for wildlife, the Coast Banksia is a top choice!

      Unexpected growth already!

I bought this as a 'Big Fella' just a month ago and it has spurted up a foot! I repotted it about 2 weeks after purchase and had to use a taller stake (and it looks like I probably need an even taller one now). I am fortunate to live close by Troy's nursery and encourage those that do to schedule a visit.
