Urchin Dryandra is one of the easiest of the species to grow as it's adaptable to most soils and garden conditions. Taller than most of its relatives, it would do best at the back of the border. The 2-4" wide flowers are well displayed at the end of the foliage and are perfect for floral designs.

I saw this come available and snatched it up. Very healthy plant that arrived by mail in good shape. I am glad that the genus name "Dryandra" was kept by Troy, as I believed, based on morphology and not genetics alone, that they belonged in their own genera and not lumped with Banksia. I will see how this one will adapt to the soil and climate of non-coastal Central California.
