(Cutting Grown)When I first spotted this power-flowerer at UC Santa Cruz, I knew I had to have it. Tracking it down wasn’t easy, but patience paid off—and now I’m propping this plant like a man possessed, because anyone with a patch of vacant soil should have one. A low, spreading shrub with soft grey foliage, it makes the perfect backdrop for the masses of pink flowers that erupt from late winter into spring.
