(Cutting Grown)
Grevillea rivularis is a rare Aussie native that makes plant hunters sit up and take notice. Endemic to a tiny stretch of New South Wales near Nowra, it’s critically endangered in the wild but a gem in cultivation, prized for both its beauty and toughness.
Growing 6–10 feet tall and wide, its fine, ferny foliage (with just a hint of spike) adds elegant texture to any garden. The real spectacle comes in warmer months, when clusters of pink to purple toothbrush-style flowers cascade from the shrub, buzzing with birds and pollinators.
Tough, adaptable, and surprisingly easy to grow in full sun with well-drained soil, it proves that endangered doesn’t have to mean delicate.
