(Seed Grown)
This chunky perennial from Chile kicks into gear just as the Proteas and Banksias are taking their summer breaks. Tall stacks of lush red flowers erupt from the foliage as the weather warms and will delight humming birds and garden friend right up until the first frost. In our mild climate it remains evergreen-ish but will go dormant during colder winters.

Review title is the exact quote from my neighbor on seeing this plant in person. Bought this in Big Fella size a year ago. It died back to the ground in Winter here in Davis, CA, but shot up new growth in the Spring; it's now over 3 ft tall and blooming for the first time. Blooms are stunning (pollinators agree)! Buy this plant, surprise and amaze your friends and neighbors :)
My initial lobelia Tupa had a dozen of flower spikes & was a beauty. On transplant it died due to neglect. After yrs, found a vendor with in stock plant, Walt. Matil. I ordered 2 plants on Sunday, they shipped on Monday, and received on Wednesday. The plants appear healthy, had good color and had 1 - 3 new flower spikes starting. Only problems: my wife placed their emails in the spam folder due to name, and medium root circling- quickly put them in new larger pot. Thank you Walt’s. Ma
