(Cutting Grown)The sea rose might look lush and almost tropical — BUT — don’t trust your peepers on this one, it’s perfectly happy getting sandblasted on the South African coast.
Glossy pink flowers sit out on the tips like little five-pointed stars. Slightly sticky to the touch, just to keep things interesting—and a reminder you’re not the pollinator it’s after.
The foliage stays fresh green and a bit velvety, even when everything around it is browning out for summer. Upright, a little loose, and reading more “soft” than most coastal dwellers—but don’t misjudge it. This thing handles salt, sand, wind, and the occasional wet feet without complaint.
In the garden: sun, decent drainage, regular water inland (it’s not called arid rose) to keep it looking sharp.
